Change decorations for different holidays

Garden Angel

(January 17, 2021)

This past Christmas, my friend, Jean, and I planned a reverse Christmas parade & live nativity for our church. As everyone knows, practically all events were cancelled over the holidays. Among the cancellations were our church programs & parties. To safely share the joy, we all had to get creative this year, & our reverse parade was such a hit that our congregation wants to do it again next year whether or not we are still socially distancing.

Ok, where's this going? Jean & I purchased several lighted yard decorations,  but we could not find an angel. So, I felt inspired to make this Garden Angel. I didn't complete it for the parade, but she is going to be beautiful in my backyard or on my porch. I'm still undecided.

Here's what you need & directions to recreate her. I probably will change her bow to brighter colors to fit whatever season & add fairy lights.

What you need:

*Wood fan trellis(I bought from Lowe's Home Improvement)

* 2 small wire trellises (DT)

* 3 sets of brass wreath rings (DT)

* Wired jute(Dollar General)

* 2 garden cultivars (DT)

* white zip ties (DT)

* Rope jute (DT)

* 2 rolls  jute string (DT pack of 3)

* 6 Gold pipe cleaners(DT)

* Ribbon (Dollar general)

* Hanging decorations (heart & lantern from DT)

I actually attached the head before I attached the wings, but think it may be easier to attach the wings first. I used super glue on the rings for her head because that's what I had easily available.  Hot glue would probably work faster. I wore gloves to glue so I didn't stick my fingers together. You have to hold the twine in the glue for the rings until it sets.

This project takes a while to complete.  It took me 3.5 hours.
